Sunny Isles Beach is a small community located on a barrier island in Miami-Dade County, between North Miami Beach and Miami Beach along Hwy A1A. It is part of the Miami, Florida metro area and is a new city, having been incorporated in June, 1997. With two and a half miles of soft, white sand beach, Sunny Isles Beach is host to almost one million visitors annually. There are five beautiful parks located at Sunny Isles Beach for both residents and visitors to enjoy. The main park has a very well-maintained 2.5 mile white sand beach that is great for swimming and other water sports. A lifeguard is on duty every day in the summertime from 9:00am to 7:00pm, and in wintertime from 9:00am to 5:00pm. There are no concessions or bathhouses on this beach, but there are several nearby hotels and restaurants. The excitement and nightlife of Miami Beach is just minutes away, and other nearby communities such as Coral Gables, Golden Beach and Key Biscayne offer full service marinas, championship golf courses, diving facilities, museums, shopping, theater and art galleries.
